Moraine / Glacial Terrain

Hummocky, irregular ground left behind by a retreated glacier — diagnostic features are scattered boulders of a size and rock type that doesn’t match the local bedrock (erratics, carried and dropped by the ice), plus kettle lakes: small, often circular depressions left by buried ice blocks that later melted.

Grassland / Steppe

Hummocky glacial deposit ground under open grass cover, erratic boulders visible at the surface.

Cultivated / Agricultural

Hummocky glacial ground cleared for farming — fields still irregular and boulder-strewn where the underlying moraine shape wasn’t fully leveled, with the erratics that once littered the surface now stacked into stone fences and piles along field edges rather than left where they lay.
